What? I'm posting again? I hope this is the start of more blogging in the year to come.
What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
Lived through a tsunami, had my husband save some lives, and started a business on Etsy.
Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Not entirely, although I did much better with the exercise program than I usually do.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
My sister-in-law and brother had their sweet baby girl Lorelei, plus some cousins had babies and a few friends too.
Did anyone close to you die?
No, but unfortunately a few people were lost on cases that the Coast Guard responded to at our station. Those guys did everything they could, but sometimes there's nothing you can do.
What countries did you visit?
Just the US of A
What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
Orders to go to A school
What dates from 2011 will remain etched in your memory, and why?
The end of May/early June - Unfortunately I had a miscarriage at that time.
What was your biggest personal achievement of the year?
Learning to be patient with the Coast Guard and the military way of life.
What was your biggest failure?
Not seeing my family enough. We saw Brett's family in Utah at the end of January and I saw my brother and sister-in-law for roughly 8 hours in May. We got to see Brett's brother and his family for a few days in September too. I didn't get to see my parents, grandparents, aunts or uncles at all this year.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing serious.
What was the best thing you bought?
Our new car. It has so much more space, and we bought it with cash, so we have no car payments.
Whose behavior merited celebration?
Brett and his Coast Guard team. Even though it feels like they wait around a lot, when they are needed, they do their job extremely well.
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Well, I don't think I'm allowed to say on a public forum, so if you have questions, you can ask. :)
Where did most of your money go?
Probably into that car.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Thinking we would be going to A school in January. Which got pushed to February. Which has now been pushed to May.
What song will always remind you of 2011?
Dynamite
Compared to this time last year are you: a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer?
Sadder (but only a little bit), about the same, and about the same
What do you wish you'd done more of?
Getting myself organized
What do you wish you'd done less of?
Being on the computer
Did you fall in love in 2011?
I do love the ocean.
What was your favorite TV program?
If you're talking about new programs, I think we probably enjoyed Biggest Loser (new to us), Up All Night, and Once Upon a Time. I really enjoyed watching some things on Netflix too: Merlin, Sherlock, Downton Abbey, and Robin Hood. Of course, they're all BBC. Wouldn't be anything else with me I guess.
What was the best book you read?
See my previous post for a detailed account of the books I read this year.
What was your greatest musical discovery?
Kermit Ruffins. Awesome treme jazz.
What did you want and get?
New pots! And a 3 bedroom place.
What did you want and not get?
Orders
What was your favorite film of this year?
I didn't see very many, but I definitely enjoyed the last installment of Harry Potter.
What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
I turned 26 and to be honest I don't remember what I did. Brett was on duty that day, and I think we went out on a combined birthday dinner that weekend.
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Orders. Are we seeing a theme here? That and being able to see my family.
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?
Well, I've started fixing the dressing like a teenager problem, with a lot of help from Rachel.
What kept you sane?
Brett. He makes it worth being in such a small, isolated town.

Hey, we just bought a new car (well, van) too! And I didn't know you had a miscarriage - I'm sorry :( We really need to see you guys.
2011 was a meh kind of year. Yea for new car, new pots, and not dressing like a teenager. I love your new felt bows, so cute! If only Ellie would keep bows in her hair now. I hope that 2012 brings you orders and a new addition!
Busy year! I might have to steal this idea if I can actually remember the whole year!
