Why I Love Dave Ramsey

Brett and I were introduced to Dave Ramsey a few weeks ago by the Guerrettes. We are so happy that they did! We have read his book The Total Money Makeover and we're hooked! Considering that we just had a baby by C-section and that earlier this year Brett was inbetween jobs for a while we have accrued some debt. We are now determined to get ourselves out of debt and stay that way forever! He has some incredible ideas about debt and economics. For an example, read this and see what I have been saying all along. He has really helped us to see what we can do with our money and how it can work for us and how we don't have to be slaves to our debt. I love that one of his main ideas about money is that giving is part of the fun. He talks extensively about how wonderful it is to give. We are so excited that we can start so young so that soon we will have plenty of money to have fun, invest, and give it away as well as being able to help our kids get through college. Read his books. You won't feel the same about money again.

I just read a blog of another young family in Utah who have used his philosophy, and are finding that it is so doable, and rethinking how they are been spending and what they can do without to prepare for the future. I will be checking this out.

Interesting...
It's funny, because even though he went through that whole "Jason Blair-like" thing at The Tennessean, I always admired that he took total credit for the falsified sources, even though his assistants were technically the ones who made them up. Very hard to do that. Sometimes I think he oversimplifies economic theories, like to the point of them not quite being theories anymore, but that conclusion isn't taken from the book you read. He writes very well, though. I just ranted. I should stop dating a person really interested in economic theory. Haha!
