Grandma Julius and Sweet Potatoes

Last night Brett's grandma came through Provo on her way to California.  She does this every year and we always get together with Brett's dad's family to see her.  Since it threatened rain yesterday we went to over to Ron and Pam's (Brett's uncle and aunt) house for dinner.  Unfortunately Kennedy started freaking out because of sensory overload as well as no nap during the afternoon.  We wanted to get a picture with her great-grandma before we left, so she is screaming in the picture.
Thankfully she was in a better mood this morning, because since she's been eating rice cereal for the past week today was the momentous move to vegetables.  We began with sweet potatoes.  She loved them!  Every time I put a new spoonful in front of her she got so excited that I could hardly get the spoon in her mouth.  I even got a big smile from her.  Here she is afterward.
The reason why she looks so clean is because mid-feeding she puked more than she ever has before, so I was forced to make her clean before I could continue the meal.  But since she seemed fine after that and finished her meal, I don't think it was due to the sweet potatoes.  She just didn't get a good enough burp.  I hope that she gets just as excited about the green beans I plan on giving her next week.  Then I think we will venture into the world of fruits.  And hopefully I will be making her some food at home sometime soon!

So great... eating new things. Jackson LOVED new food! I am so jealous you are in Utah with all our family!

You probably already know this, but be careful with strawberries. Some little babies cannot handle the acid in it. Just wanted to warn you, it's a fruit you might want to hold off on.

I can't wait to start Wyatt on solids, I might hold off until he's 6 months, not sure yet! I found this website http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/ and it got me really excited, haha. I want to make baby food! :D
