3rd Annual Pumpkin Carving Party

For the third year in a row we got together with the Waddoups to carve pumpkins and watch a scary movie.  We watched Signs (which is one of my favorites).  Kim told me that she went on a date once where the boys put a projector up in front of a corn field and watched that movie!  Creepy!  We also had a Dijon Chicken Stew that I made as well as Kaye's famous apple cider that she so graciously gave me the recipe for.  It was awesome and we had a great time.  I didn't get to carve my pumpkin (I'm going to do a Lucy pumpkin tonight) but Brett carved a cute ghost family!  Kennedy is in the middle and I have hair.  You'll be able to see it a little bit better in the later pictures.
Nate carved a goal post with a football going through it (BYU could use a few more of those at the moment) and Kim carved a pumpkin for Boston.  The pumpkin is a football helmet and she carved the face into it.
Our night camera wouldn't steady, so they're kind of blurry, but here they are all lit up!
I thought this picture turned out kind of cool.  It looks like the ghosts are on fire or something.
We're looking forward to lighting our pumpkins on Halloween!

Baby Love

The Waddoups watched Kennedy for a little while last week while I was helping out a friend and Brett was helping the guy that bought his car.  I didn't get these pictures until this morning, but I was looking forward to seeing them ever since I heard about them!  Ever since we found out that we were having a girl and they were having a boy, we have been joking about them getting married one day.  But Kennedy and Boston look like they might like each other a lot already!
Here they are, holding hands without being provoked!  As Kim pointed out to us, there are no pictures of Kennedy that aren't blurry because she is constantly moving.  I'm serious, she never stops.  But I figure that this will be a good thing as she gets older.  And I have to point out, that although the parents of both children tend to be pretty conservative, I think it would be hilarious if they got married considering their names.  Don't Kennedy and Boston just go together anyway?

Here Come the Banana Splits!

These pictures are kind of old, as this party happened about a week before Kennedy was born (hence my extremely puffy face) and way before Boston was born, but since it was so close to the baby I wasn't able to blog about it.  For Brett's birthday, his mom bought him banana split dishes and all of the stuff needed to make the ultimate banana split.  (We still have ice cream in our freezer.)  So, since the dishes were much too big for a single banana split, we invited the Waddoups over so we could make a dessert per couple.  Can you guess which one belongs to the 9 months pregnant lady?
Obviously mine has tons of whipped cream and cherries.  We had a great time!  We watched a movie while enjoying our dessert too.  Here are Kim and Nate ogling their ice cream that they weren't allowed to eat until we took pictures.
Here we are with our huge dessert.  Brett is sporting his mouth full of whipped cream and I am sporting my pregnancy chubbiness.  We are going to have to do this again now that we both have babies!  (Don't worry, I will get pictures of Boston up here soon.)
By the way, I don't know if anyone but Blake will understand the reference in my title.  You can get more information on the Banana Splits here.  Also, please enjoy a video of the intro to the show.  Does anybody remember this show?

Welcome Boston!

Yet another of our long awaited babies has been born! Boston (middle name undecided) Waddoups was born yesterday at 7:05 pm. He was 9 lbs 1 oz and 21 inches long! It's a good thing that he wasn't a week late like the doctor said he would be! I regrettably forgot my camera, so I have no pictures at the moment. Kennedy took a liking to him right away. His little bottom lip quivers which is so cute but heartbreaking! He has really long "monkey toes" that he will gladly stretch for you. We're so excited that he is here early and healthy. Congratulations Kim and Nate!
