Here Today, Gone Tomorrow

Well, really I'm not leaving until the day after tomorrow, but Thursday and Friday will be pretty hectic, so I thought I would post now. We are almost done packing, got rid of all the food in the house, and are trying to clean up the mess that we have made in the process. Brett was kind enough to let me hire a maid service to come and clean the apartment, so I don't have to do any of that. :)

Poor Kennedy has been so tired lately because we have not been so great about keeping her on a schedule. We have been running around trying to see a lot of people before we go. Yesterday she was taking a seriously long nap, so I looked in on her to see if she was still alive.
I have never seen her do anything like that before. Her face is completely down in the floor. I guess if she's tired enough she'll sleep anywhere. I don't know if she understands that we are moving, but I'm not that worried about her. She adapts very quickly. Lucy, on the other hand, I am very worried about. She is going to have to spend 2 nights at Brett's parent's house (which smells like a strange cat), be in the car all day, stay in a hotel, be in the car all day and end up in a completely different state in another house that smells like a strange cat. She is going to be traumatized. I hope she doesn't run away.

I'd be worried about Lucy too, Little Kitty is evil! Maybe you guys can get your vet to give her a sedative, just so that you don't have to worry about her trip over here. I can't believe that Kennedy fell asleep on that floor, that's crazy!

Good luck with the move! That's always an exciting (and usually bittersweet) event.

You are so lucky that you got to hire a maid service! The picture of Kennedy is so cute! She seems like such a fun little girl. I wish we lived closer so us and our girls could hang out more! Good Luck moving!

We are going to miss you guys, thanks for the fun the other night. I'm sure Lucy will be traumatized, but she'll get back into the swing of things before too long. I don't know how cats are, but I'm sure she'll adapt! Good luck with everything, and remember to keep us updated on your fun adventures!

My vet always said to give my dog a half dose of baby Benedryl (the liquid kind) before traveling with him. He's usually not nervous, but it's nice to make sure he isn't traumatized.

I hope all goes well with the move! Especially with the kitty, I remember when we moved to Seattle, one of our cats barely made it. But she still lived to be 21 yrs.
